As we near the end of the fourth week of conflict in the Middle East Gulf, we see no immediate signs of any de-escalation to the crisis.

The LNG spot market continued to cool this week as the short-term spike in sentiment driven by tensions in the Middle East began to weaken. As the week progressed, a growing tonnage list and easing urgency from charterers pushed rates lower across both basins.

The TC1 75kt MEG/Japan index went from WS383 to WS411 this week. A voyage west also saw the TC20 90kt MEG/UK-Continent index climb a little to $7.32 million (+$78,100).

The market began the week under pressure, with broad-based softening across both basins before staging a measured recovery to finish marginally firmer overall.
