GasLog Ltd. announce that on Tuesday, 16 September they celebrated the double naming ceremony of the Woodside Jirrubakura and the Woodside Barrumbara at Hanwha Ocean Shipyard in Geoje, South Korea.
The vessels’ names carry a special cultural meaning in the Ngarluma language of the Pilbara region of Western Australia:
Jirrubakura — crayfish
Barrumbara — barramundi
The ceremony was a memorable occasion celebrated together with distinguished guests, valued customers, members of management team, colleagues from Head Office and Site Team, the Master and & Crew, as well as Shipyard and Class representatives.
The vessels are scheduled for delivery in September and November, respectively. They represent the newest LNG carriers in the world, equipped with:
HP-2S MEGI engines
Two shaft generators
Air Lubrication System
Full Reliquefaction System
