Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) soybean futures slid sharply on technical trading on Friday, as investors rushed to liquidate their positions ahead of the weekend, traders said.

Iron ore futures rose on Thursday, with the Dalian benchmark hitting a one-week high after two days of declines, as sentiment turned upbeat ahead of the release of Chinese lending data, a key indicator of support for economic growth.

The Baltic Exchange’s dry bulk sea freight index extended its decline to hit an over one-month low on Wednesday, weighed by weaker demand across vessel segments.
