Bureau Veritas Solutions Marine & Offshore (greek branch) participating at the ETYFA FSRU project at Vasilikos Bay

bvetyfaThe Natural Gas Infrastructure Company (ETYFA) of Cyprus completed the evaluation process of the "Owner's Engineer" competition on July 31st 2020 and identified the consortium “Hill International N.V. and Bureau Veritas Solutions Marine & Offshore Greek branch”with subcontractorsTractebel and Gazocean.

The team of supervising engineers, which undertakes the project of developing infrastructure for the import of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) in Cyprus, is of international caliber with a strong European representation.

The stage of proposals’ submission for the tender was completed on May 21st, having received eight (8) proposals in total from international companies in the field of energy, showing the high level of interest of energy giants to participate in this project of distinct energy and geostrategic importance for the South East Mediterranean Region.

The project is planned to be completed within 24 months at Vasilikos Bay in Cyprus.

The LNG Terminal will include a floating LNG storage and regasification unit (FSRU), a pier for mooring the floating unit, which will be approximately 750-800 meters long on the axis from North to South and another approximately 430-500 meters to the southwest.

The pier will be able to receive, in parallel with the FSRU, LNG Carriers sizes from 125,000 m3 to Qflex (217,000 m3), which is the 2nd largest type of LNG transport and trading tankers.
