With the pause in US tariffs over for now, we have seen a further gradual decline in freight costs per box on the FBX routes to the US. This will be partly due to savvy shippers, moving all their imports out of China into the US whilst the tariffs were on hold for 90 days, so we may have seen an early peak season.

Interestingly trade to the Continent has grown in volume and freight costs, and look to be seeing a shift in trade dynamics as a side effect of the US tariffs, which will be worth watching in the coming months.

FBX01 (China/East Asia – USA West Coast) ended the week at $2,346/FEU, down $225/FEU from last Friday.

FBX03 (China/East Asia – USA East Coast) is today at $4,880/FEU, down $121 compared with last Friday.

FBX11 (China/East Asia – North Europe), finished the week at $3,458/FEU, up $16 on end last week.

FBX13 (China/East Asia to Mediterranean) rates ended at $3,768/FEU, down $92 on same time last week.
