Update on K-Line-owned Dry Bulk Carrier “DEVON BAY”
“K” Line Pte Ltd (KLPL) , a Singapore-based subsidiary wholly owned by Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K” LINE), acknowledges that the relevant authorities have concluded the search and rescue operation relating to the incident involving its vessel DEVON BAY (IMO: 9622849) on 22 January 2026, en route to Yangjiang, China with a cargo of nickel ore, effective 21:07 hours local time (UTC+8) on 1 February 2026.
Vessels from our Group that assisted in the operation have now stood down in line with the authorities’ decision.
We are deeply grateful to the Philippines and China Coast Guards, the co-ordinating rescue centres, and all vessels and crew that have assisted – including vessels from the Group’s fleet – for their sustained, professional, and tireless efforts throughout the search and rescue operation.
We extend our deepest condolences to the families of our deceased crew members, and our thoughts remain with the families of the crew members who remain unaccounted for.
We will continue to work closely with the relevant authorities and the ship manager to ensure all affected crew and their families receive the necessary support.
This is an extremely difficult moment for the families, colleagues, and loved ones of crew members. We respectfully request that their privacy be respected.
“K” LINE, in cooperation with KLPL, continues to assist with all relevant investigations. We will not publicly comment on the cause while investigations by the relevant authorities are ongoing.
