Euroseas Ltd., an owner and operator of container vessels and provider of seaborne transportation for containerized cargoes, announced that on February 6, 2024, it has taken delivery of its M/V Tender Soul, an Eco EEDI Phase 3, 2,800 teu feeder containership newbuilding from Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co. in South Korea.

Action has picked up in the LNG market, with several cargoes and tenders coming into play from the Atlantic, ships being taken on subs or in firm discussions has done something to hush the negative rhetoric that has been surrounding the LNG spot market since the beginning of the year.

LR’s in the MEG continued their downward trajectory this week. The 75kt MEG/Japan TC1 index shed 51.66 points to WS261.67. The 90kt MEG/UK-Continent TC20 run to the UK-Continent dropped consistently through the week from $8.263 million to $7.006 million

Capesize

The capesize market started the week with a cautiously optimistic tone despite sluggish overall activity. Weather disruptions in China and a gradual start in the Atlantic were notable factors.

Stolt-Nielsen Limited (Oslo Børs: SNI) announced that its Joint Venture between NYK Line and Stolt Tankers (NYK Stolt Tankers, or ‘NST’) has reached an agreement with Nantong Xiangyu Shipyard in China to build six 38,000 deadweight tonne stainless steel chemical tankers for delivery between late 2026 and 2029.

Θαλάσσια ρύπανση, έκτασης περίπου δεκαέξι χιλιάδων τετραγωνικών μέτρων με την μορφή διάσπαρτων κηλίδων από ιριδίζον φιλμ πετρελαιοειδών, εντοπίστηκε τις απογευματινές ώρες χθες, μεταξύ κρηπιδωμάτων 10-12 στο λιμάνι της Θεσσαλονίκης.
